If you have worked with "quartz" engineered stone for 6 month or more, you should be screened for silicosis. You may not have symptoms initially or you may have mild symptoms. There is no cure for silicosis but there are treatments. You can expect your doctor to ask about your health history and what kind of work you have done. You may also get testing such as a chest x-ray, a pulmonary functioning test, and/or a bronchoscopy (which involves tissue or fluid samples).
